We have had another superb set of results in to highlight the anti-microbial effects of micrAgard PLUS™!
In this most recent test, micrAgard PLUS™, PVC and Polyester were pitted against vancomycin resistant enterococcus to test their effectiveness against superbugs. The term “superbugs” describes strains of bacteria that are resistant to the majority of antibiotics commonly used today. Therefore it is essential we work to prevent them as much as possible.
When tested, it was found that micrAgard PLUS™ was 99.12% effective against vancomycin resistant enterococcus, following a contact time of 24 hours.[vc_gallery interval=”3″ images=”26081,26082,26083″ img_size=”full”] Conclusion:
The test fabric Red micrAgard PLUS™ Wipe Clean has shown a 2.05 log reduction (99.12%) against vancomycin resistant enterococcus, following a 24 hour contact time.
Untreated control fabrics 600 polyester and Red PVC showed no reduction in bacterial counts, both fabrics showed an increase in vancomycin resistant enterococcus within the 24 hour contact time.
