Today the nation celebrates the 70th anniversary of the NHS. This day is a chance to honour and say thank you to all the staff and volunteers who give their time and commitment to saving lives. This is also a day to recognise the key milestones of the NHS and it’s achievements throughout the years.
The NHS remains one of the most cherished institutions in Britain and has treated billions of patients. Whilst things have changed throughout the decades, the top quality service has always remained the same.
At Openhouse, we are proud to say that for over 20 of those 70 years, we have done a vast amount of business with London Ambulance Service. Feeling reflective ourselves, we went into our image archives and looked back at some of our older products.
[vc_gallery interval=”3″ images=”20410,20424,20425,20426,20427,20428″ img_size=”full”] Above show some examples of our older bags. We have always worked to provide the best service we can and the best quality storage solutions and we have always worked to improve our products further, pushing the limits of design. We have continuously pushed to adapt our manufacturing process. As you can see, these bags feature same-colour lining, in addition to embroidery. Even though these bags are a blast from the past we are proud to say that many of our bags are still know to be in service after 10 years of active use. [vc_gallery interval=”3″ images=”20414,20415,20416,20172,19665,19284″ img_size=”full”] To improve help with infection control, our bags now have heat transfer reflective printing which can be printed onto a bag in the form of text and logos. We also offer a welding badges for logos which displays them on the bag. We also used a treated silver lining on our bags which prevents contamination and infection. The lining is also water resistant and flame retardant. In addition to this we also treat our hook and loop fastenings adding to the protection of what’s inside. One big change is the material; many of our older bags pre-date micrAgard™. micrAgard™ was first devised at the Ambex conference in 2004 and since then had been widely acclaimed by customers who work in ambulance, police and fire services. It has developed into a wipe clean material which is available in 8 colours. micrAgard™ is anti-microbial and water resistant, making it a standard in infection control.
